You may or may not have heard the term before, but if you are interested in growing your business, it is not a bad idea to understand “What is CRM?” CRM officially means Customer Relationship Management.  CRM essentially is a company-wide tool to manage your interactions with prospects and customers.  A CRM system allows you to get all your prospect and customer information in one spot, allowing your sales, marketing, and customer service teams to work together and to forge stronger relationships with leads and current customers.

Your relationships with your prospective and current customers are at the core of your business’s success. In a CRM you care for the individual needs of your existing customer relationships. Your business will also enter and track your future sales prospects and the progress of turning those prospects into customers or sales along the way. It allows you to build stronger relationships with your current and potential customers.

At the heart of any good CRM system is creating an internal process by which to utilize your CRM solution.  An effective CRM strategy can help you to offer better customer service, close deals faster, even cross sell and upsell to current clients.  It will help you better keep track of leads, convert those leads to sales, and track sales all along the sales life cycle.

CRM systems can help integrate your sales, marketing and customer service staff, allowing shared access to your contact database. This allows your staff to make informed decisions based on real time information accessible in your CRM system, thereby improving customer service, sales rates and potentially increasing profitability.

Businesses of every size can benefit from a CRM, even very small businesses.  Almost certainly, you will receive a positive return on investment from implementing a CRM in your business as long as you actually use it.
