| Setup was seamless. Had a SAS DW environment so access to data was real easy through the ODBC driver support of SAS. I didnt need any specific training in Qlikview as I am pretty experienced in BI reporting with SAS, Microstrategy and Tableau. I had just 1 developer in the team who mainly setup data access, etc. We had 2 designers across a number of different reporting solutions and software. The features we use d the most was the Dimension based reporting. Its so much easier than the classic BI products that force you to use MOLAP based structures and write MDX to front end the cubes. Qlikviews in-memory Columnar approach makes everything so much easier to develop and maintain. | |

| For what we needed in our business, Qlikview has been fantastic. What we needed in BI: - ability to report on and diagnose "Big Data" - built and host web reports - email out scorecards - pull in and "mashup" multiple, different data sources and data technologies. Support was appropriate for what we needed. Set up was not terribly intuitive, but we got things to work. Customization is good on the important stuff; not great on the nice-to-have stuff. Overall, though, I'm very happy. | |

| QlikTech beat Microsoft to the punch before they had ever dreamed of PowerPivot. They built an Excel on steroids, then added an in-memory database before it was all the rage. It's got a VBA-like extensive scripting language, it's relatively affordable, it has a rapid deployment capability, and most of all doesn't have the off-putting opacity of the other big name, big ticket BI tools. You can learn to set it up yourself, or get help. VAR assistance varies greatly, not dissimilar to what you find installing, say, Microsoft CRM via a third party. Customer support has been getting steadily better, but we're talking about being the best of the worst. Customer service in this space is as underwhelming as it is expensive, overall. It's getting better, but very gradually. (Self-service customer service seems to be beyond software companies -- a paradox since they should be the first to embrace it.) Biggest weakness: integrating it with just about anything. It sucks up data nicely, but doesn't like sharing its capabilities with other players in the .NET space. Its IDE is simplistic (worlds away from Visual Studio, the Cadillac), debugging is weak, and there was no version control integration until 2011 No support for some commonly needed charts such as Gantt charts and 3D visualizations. Best features: avoid building cubes. Next best feature: avoid building cubes. You get the picture. | |

| The setup process was relatively straight forward. Once installed, I would recommend a fresh re-boot to ensure there isn't a task in the background utilizing any process cpu. The customer support experience I have had was very good but any outside consulting is expensive. Being that it is such a custom tool, there are only so many support companies who truly know the product. My company used the app and I was a developer along with promoting the integration in our department. The graphs with drill down capabilities and the quick switch of data with auto updates are extremely useful and time savers. | |
