Description:WebEx is a web conferencing solution that can be accessed from most computers and mobile devices. The voice quality tends to be excellent, and the software has the ability to record and play back sessions. WebEx can be somewhat complicated for a conference moderator to manage, however, so it is generally recommended that a third-party handle the technical aspects during a presentation. |

| I used WebEx within a small company, 30 employees. We communicate with 90 franchisees across the US and Canada. The setup was easy for the personal product, and not too bad for the corporate product which we upgraded to later. I was able to do most of it myself. There were too many config screens for my liking but I got good support when I needed it. I was happy with the level of customization, but our needs for customization were small. I looked into integrating the software into our proprietary CRM software and was pleased with the ease and level of support offered. We haven't done the integration yet but I feel comfortable in doing so when the time comes. | |

| My primary use of Webex is for receiving training from our various suppliers. It works very well. What I particularly like about Webex is that all you need is a web browser. If you haven't used it before it takes about 5 mins to install the browser plug-in but it's all quite straightforward. This is a huge advantage as it means that you can conference with anyone in the world without needing to install specialist software first. Generally when I use Webex the sound comes through the telephone rather than VOIP. It seems to work OK. Webex has a feature which rings your phone number when the conference starts. You need to be careful though because unless it goes to your direct phone line, i.e. it goes through reception instead, your receptionist picks up this automated voice from Webex and doesn't know who to transfer it to. You get around this by supplying your direct line or ringing a local Webex number yourself. The video conferencing relies on your webcam which has average quality. A Webcam is never going to be as good as a large lens room based conferencing system but for one on one communications Webex is fine. | |

| I've been in many WebEx meetings that I had to setup for the group because they had issues in setting it up. It seems that a non technical person ran into problems more frequently. Once the meeting got started things are usually OK, unless someone gets dropped for some reason. Also as others have stated many of our clients there was no training at all for WebEx, it was just "made available" by IT. |

| I have been in many WebEx meetings, and like many web conferencing tools often the meeting set up is over complex. In any meeting if there is one person that is having trouble with the technology, it can hold up the whole meeting. Because WebEx requires a download, this is often the issue. That or people are unfamiliar with the un-intuitive controls. Once the meeting gets started things are usually OK, unless someone gets dropped for some reason. The screen share or screen cast are the most often used features, with voting and polling also popular. At many of our clients there was no training at all for WebEx, it was just "made available" by IT, this caused problems, low rates of adoption and increased # of support calls. |

| Better than most. It is a product arena that is tough. Customer support issues, cannot address as WebEx itself has been OK. No need to call them. It is the Internet itself (or end user ID10T) issues have been the issues. |
