Good Customization Capibility But More Work Is Needed For Integration With Other Products

Adobe Connect can be used in two different architectures, one way as a hosted service by Adobe or a third party, or second as an enterprise solution hosted by on the corporate network. Setup by the users is easy once the planning has been done by the hosted service provider has been done and a deployment plan has been established. Adobe does a great job explaining the setup of the client for the user environment but can do a better job providing training to the corporate administrator on how to setup the server architecture, for the strengths and limitations. For example, the choice may be to configure the hosted service as an internal enterprise service, and because the corporate network may provide the layer of security, you may choose to configure adobe connect without secure sockets layer (SSL), for performance reasons. Also, if the administrator does not understand the impact of profile configurations, users may put video traffic on the network that results in slow performance overall when multiple users get on the service. Customization capability was very good, I found the layout of the usage and the screens to be very configurable. When it comes to integration with other products however more work is needed in this area, Adobe Connect uses it's own protocols.

Easy Interface For Customization And Dynamic Platform

I find Adobe Connect to be simple and comprehensive. The interface is very easy to customize and the platform is very dynamic. You aren't just limited to a single live session that only executes screen sharing as a form of collaboration. The system will support the hosting and tracking of on-demand content and courses. The open API allows for some very unique applications that you just can't build using other web conferencing solutions.

Simple install procedure, can get a little more complex if you start adding edge servers. That being said if you follow the documentation its pretty straight forward. No other resources were required and Connect integrated with all the LMS systems I have hooked it up to.

Adobe Connect - My Web Conferencing Solution

I use Adobe Connect regularly, as an Adobe User Group Manager who broadcasts and records meetings online, as an Adobe software trainer offering online classes and as a virtual producer for American Management Association's online catalog of classes. I find the setup to be easy to understand, and I love the ability to use breakout rooms, add polls, upload SWF movies to play directly within Connect and more. I appreciate the ability to keep my students engaged by allowing them to set their status, give them microphones, email them the notes from notes pods and have private chats with me or other participants. The analytics on the back end are second to none - I can see when students logged in and out, keep track of recordings, export data directly to Excel. I do use PowerPoint docs but mostly I prefer PDFs. I wish the sizing of PDFs was a little easier within the room, but I have learned to accept it. I use Adobe Captivate to create movies and upload them to the room, and I use the Adobe Exchange site to find cool add-ons, such as timers and music players, to work within Connect.

Connect is the best conferencing software out there. It has more flexibility than other systems. Easier to help develop and deliver interactive and engaging online presentations. The UI is the best on the market. It has been elegantly designed.
